Bio
A little more about me:
I raised four children, mostly on my own. Like millions of working families, I faced daily challenges. I juggled multiple responsibilities, worked to keep my children safe, and stretched every resource to secure their future. One of my proudest moments was watching my daughter succeed in college. This proves that when families receive support, young people thrive.
I have also experienced the failures of systems meant to protect us.
In February of 2022, my son received a life sentence for self-defense. Seven months later, Hurricane Ian destroyed my home and took everything I possessed, along with so much from my neighbors and community. Today, I am still fighting with the insurance company to rebuild what was lost.
These experiences did not break me. They strengthened me. I am resilient, and I fight through adversity every single day. I live and fight with history that proves my integrity and my commitment to people and community.
If you want change, get out and vote. If you are satisfied with the lack of growth and progress in our communities, then continue voting the way things have always been. But if you believe we deserve better, your vote matters. Not voting is accepting the conditions we live in today. Our lives can change with this vote, and together, we can create a future that works for everyone.
